SOM 10th international symposium on soil organic matter
Held at the International Diffusion Center of the University of São Paulo (CDI/USP), the symposium brought together researchers, students, agricultural sector professionals, and representatives from institutions across various countries. The SOHMA group actively participated in the event, which gathered the leading scientific figures in the field to discuss the future of management and sustainability.
The event featured lectures, technical sessions, oral presentations, and the exhibition of hundreds of scientific papers, promoting knowledge exchange among researchers from different fields and countries. Among the highlights was the participation of internationally renowned scientists, who shared experiences and perspectives on the future of soil research.
Our team had a remarkable presence, standing out as one of the groups with the highest volume of technical papers presented in poster format. In addition to our scientific contribution, the event was co-organized by our advisor, Maurício Roberto Cherubin, in conjunction with CCARBON/USP.
The significance of our presence at SOM 2026 boosts the role of SOHMA, ESALQ/USP, and CCARBON in tropical agriculture research. We thank all group members for their dedication and the high quality of the work presented.
Our member, Lorena Manoel Barbosa, a scientific initiation researcher at SOHMA, won the 2nd place best poster award at SOM 2026! This result demonstrates the potential and quality of the research conducted within our group, receiving recognition at a World Symposium.
