New SOHMACast Episode: Pastures and soil health in the sustainable intensification of livestock farming
In the third episode of the new season of SOHMA Cast, a podcast developed by the SOHMA group at ESALQ-USP in partnership with TV USP Piracicaba and CCarbon, hosts Leonardo and Lívia welcome Guilhermo Francklin de Souza Congio to discuss the sustainable intensification of grazing systems and soil health in pastures.
During the conversation, the episode explores the main challenges in pasture management, highlighting common mistakes that compromise productivity, as well as signs that indicate degradation processes. The guest also presents practical strategies to maintain the stability and vigor of forage grasses throughout the year.

Another topic addressed is the use of practical soil health indicators, such as water infiltration, an important tool for assessing the quality of productive systems. The episode also encourages reflection on the role of livestock production in building more sustainable systems.
Throughout the interview, it becomes evident that proper pasture management is essential not only for increasing productivity, but also for improving soil quality and contributing to climate change mitigation.
