Lucas Freitas Nogueira Souza
Agricultural engineer (2017), master's degree (2020) and doctorate (2024) from the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture (ESALQ-USP), with specialization in plant science and focus on large crops and agricultural production systems.
Lucas works in the areas of sustainable soil management, integrated production systems, cover crops, and intensification of agricultural systems. He was a visiting researcher at Kansas State University, in the United States, where he developed research in agricultural modeling and data science.
He is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Soil Science at ESALQ-USP and a member of the Soil Health & Management Research Group (SOHMA), dedicated to the study of carbon sequestration in integrated production systems and soil health.
