Who is the researcher? George Lambais

George is a postdoctoral researcher at Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz, where he works with the Soil Health & Management Research Group and CCARBON/USP – Center for Carbon Research in Tropical Agriculture. His current research focuses on soil health, soil carbon, and agrivoltaic systems (AgriPV), seeking to understand how integrated agricultural production and solar energy systems can contribute to more sustainable agriculture. His career combines a strong academic background with practical experience, emphasizing soil microbiology, mycorrhizae, and the role of glomalin in carbon sequestration, all of which are fundamental topics for agricultural resilience and climate change mitigation.

For eight years, George worked as a researcher at the Instituto Nacional do Semiárido, where he was responsible for implementing and coordinating the Environmental Microbiology Laboratory, in addition to working directly in laboratory quality management based on the ISO/IEC 17025 standard. Regarding his academic background, he holds a Ph.D. in Sciences from Centro de Energia Nuclear na Agricultura, including a research internship at CIRAD in France, a master’s degree in Plant Physiology and Biochemistry from Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz, and a degree in Biology from Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba.

His professional experience ranges from plant biology to soil health indicators and water reuse in agriculture, directly contributing to the advancement of knowledge about the health of Brazilian soils.
