New SOHMACast Episode: Perennial crops, plant nutririon, and soil health

In the third episode of the new season of SOHMA Cast, an initiative by the SOHMA group (ESALQ/USP) in partnership with TV USP Piracicaba and CCARBON/USP – Center for Carbon Research in Tropical Agriculture, hosts Eloisa and Lucas welcome Prof. Dr. Tiago Tezotto for a conversation about soil management in perennial crops, such as coffee, citrus, and fruit crops.

During the episode, the specialist highlights that soil quality is one of the pillars for the sustainable development of these crops. The discussion addresses how soil physical, chemical, and biological attributes act in an integrated manner, directly influencing plant mineral nutrition and physiological performance.

Another central point of the conversation is the role of conservation practices. Techniques such as maintaining soil cover and managing organic matter are identified as essential strategies to promote the long-term sustainability of production systems.
